With the assassination of King Adrien, the whole kingdom of Aurai has fallen into disarray. The Royal Court declared that the king's widow, Queen Lenora Belnadez, was to be blamed for this foul murder. For she was a Vistani sorceress, one of the Witchfolk. So in order to make an example of her and satisfy the people, they exiled her and all of her kin to the Underfell, the Heartless lands. Declared by the Royal Court in an Edict known as the Exiled March. Valerian Belnadez, a young Vistani sorcerer, will see himself dragged into this tragedy. Carrying with him only a shattered family, and a secret that could bring death both to himself and everyone he cares about. For wherever he goes, chaos follows.
