Synopsis
"Now, what's the word, captain?"
What would you do if you woke up in Hell on a pirate ship crewed by superpowered reprobates?
When Kane wakes up on the deck of a ship sailing through a sea of blood, the first thing he decides is that the captain of this crew has a really nice hat. The second thing he decides is that he wants it for himself.
Clearly, his priorities are misplaced.
Armed with a memory full of holes, a dead man's knife, no powers to speak of, a second voice in his head, an unyielding will and a group of unstable strangers, Kane has no choice but to embark on a perilous journey towards the center of Limbo -- whether for treasure, salvation, doom, or perhaps a way out.
I've never written anything on Royal Road, but I've done a bit of reading around, so I suppose I should let you know what to expect.
What to Expect: - Determined anti-hero protagonist thrust into a new realm filled with conspiracies. Starts off powerless, but grows formidable overtime. - Screwed-up allies, menacing foes, and hellish monsters, all with agendas and secrets of their own. Strong focus on character development, worldbuilding, and plot. - No numbers. Soft magic system that keeps in check with the themes and lore.- Heavy foreshadowing -- everything in the story is there for a reason.- Humor and all-round camaraderie in spite of the dark atmosphere.(Cover from OpenArt.ai)
