A young man is born into a life filled with supernatural entities. Powerful, grand, and majestic magics await him the moment his totem manifests itself. Only his totem has no strength. He is useless in helping his father bear growing burdens. While still young his father send him off to the human world in attempt to keep him from learning of dark secrets and growing danger. A wound is left on Fleck's heart as he is cast out. The story starts off as his father had arranged for Fleck to be sent to a human school for further education.
