Mitch, a shy and studious high schooler, relishes the quiet moments before homeroom, taking time to tidy up the classroom and lose himself in a book. He is paired with a group of unlikely companions for a group project: the popular athlete Craig, the rebellious farm boy Tim, the tall and intimidating Mel, and the goth-inspired beauty Christine.  Just as the awkward silence settles in, the students receive a mysterious message on their phones, triggering a blinding light that transports them into a fantastical, video game-like world.  Waking up in strange attire corresponding to various character classes, the group must quickly adapt to their new surroundings. Mitch finds himself as a priestly healer, Mel as a powerful Amazon warrior, Christine as a dark mage, Craig as a Viking-esque marksman, and Tim as a rugged explorer. Thrust into a "Battle Royale" scenario, the group must work together to survive, level up, and uncover the true nature of this game world.
