Chapter 2: Halls
Everywhere up and down was filled with halls and walls. Most importantly I gleaned an observation, a primal instinct of fear had crept up on me. In my head a sliver of my conscience insisted that it would be safer in my cell. But every other part of my being wanted to escape. So there we were, me and Mr. Rock, staring wearily out into the dim dullen gray.
It was a humbling epiphany which led me to conclude that maybe this wasn’t the best idea. Allas what was done is now done and with self encouraging thoughts we moved forward. But not for long as I had no clue where I was going.
‘Dead end number three, aaand number four… Huh, that was quick.’ With the fourth dead end obstructing our path I subsequently realized that maybe dead end number four was dead end number one, and we’ve just been walking in circles. ‘How do you suppose we get out of here Mr. Rock?’ “... … …” ‘Yeah, I got nothing as well.’

Most of the time Mr. Rock’s input was insightful, but unfortunately our current predicament left the both of us befuddled. ‘Hmm, if both walls right or left all lead to my cell, couldn’t I follow one of them out of here?’ To me this notion felt more sound than anything I had ever come up with. There was absolutely no way it would fail because, according to Mr. Rock, nothing was more right than me.
Like this we moved forward again, Only this time we were met with much less dead ends and more winding paths. Time passed as we traversed the Labyrinth, Mr. Rock and I enjoyed each other's company through conversation. Even if what we discussed was arbitrary in nature, Mr. Rock didn’t seem to mind.
Throughout our long journey traversing the Labyrinth, not a single soul did we run into. Instead we followed the walls for years to count, time not being a heavy burden on my beastial perception. Never did I grow tired, only plagued by my growing sense of boredom. Until one day my eyes caught the vague gleam of a torches light in the distance.
