We meet George, a single bloke in his early twenties, working in IT for a faceless corporation.As the story unfolds, it tells of his whirlwind romance with Joanne, interspirsed with a series of violent killings, and a band of IT workers who are planning to take down the IT systems and all records on a payday loan database of the same large corporation that George works for.They carry out this cyberattack almost too successfully and bring down the system, and much more than they bargained for.Meanwhile George and Jo take themselves off to Skegness for a weekend away, and the weekend takes a strange turn , hwne they find a ring washed up on the beach, they track the ring to an elderly lady, who rewards them with a night out at a hotel with a meal thrown. When they arrive they find themselves at a luxurious hotel with fine dining and perfection in every aspect. When they check out on monday, a card swipe at reception makes them richer to the tune of two hundred and fifty thousand pounds.They race back to the lady for an explanation, only to find she has died.  So they head home sad, elated, confused and excited.Back with the hackers, they turn up to work on Monday to find everything is down. Frank the hardware systems expert bottles it halfway through the morning and runs away.The rest of the team breath a collective sigh of relief, when the systems are still not back by early afternoon, so everyone is sent home early for the day.George and Jo, who are both completely unaware of the reasons for this, but work for the same company also go home early. That monday evening it all comes crashing down. The hackers are picked up one-by-one and driven home (except Frank, who ran off and is in hiding) they are driven away to the same detention centre.George, Jo, Ste, Wendy and Baz all meet each other for the first time that night, and are enjoying themselves, ready to go out to the pub, when they also all get picked up by a SWAT team and driven off to the same detention centre. They are interrogated individually by unknown agents who do not identify themselves, and are all questioned about the system breach and asked what they know about GREP, and the reborn project? All of them have no idea what they are being asked about, and the interrogators get nowhere. Whilst in their individual cells, they hear loud music, followed by fighting and gunfire, and are busted out of the centre en-masse by Frank with another group of soldiers and flown away in a helicopter gunship. They meet the head of a resistance operation, that has been fighting GREP for years and has now been forced into the open. We then cut back to the detention centre and meet the head of GREP and find out what the reborn project is, and Majories role in the creation of the project.  Then final part of the story tells how our heroes are drawn into battle against GREP, and at the end of the battle they are faced with teh ultimate question of whether anyone has the right to determine who lives, who dies, and whether some people deserve a second chance, by paying for it with another death.
