Synopsis
Thomas Turner, an athletic man in his fifties, had been suffering with cancer for many years. Discovered too late, he simply lived out his last years in happiness, before he succumbed to the disease.
Or so it should have ended. Waking up in an unfamiliar room with nothing but a blanket to cover him, he finds out he was summoned to another world, rejuvenated in body and strength. A great opportunity at another life, one filled with magic and adventure perhaps, yet he already finds himself in grave danger.
Given an opportunity to save himself through the power of a Knight sent to help him, he instead chooses to save others. With this goal in mind, he seeks out the Knight, wishing to attain power to fight back.
Under guidance, he gains the title of the Knight's squire, and the path of power to save others is revealed to him. The path of... commiting blasphemy?
Witness as Thomas, no longer alone, moves to defy the Gods themselves.
A high fantasy isekai story with an overpowered side-protagonist, including a System, magic, Gods, and a depressed Knight, many familiar and popular concepts appear in a unique mishmash that aims to bring new views onto common fantasy aspects.
Though a system is present, it's not a main part of the story, mostly to avoid unnecessary clutter and arbitrary numbers (that will still be going up, just not shown as often).
Written as a student's project for school, I can't promise much consistency in a release schedule, but it is still a passion project with urgency set by the work being mandatory, I will at least try to keep a consistency in total monthly content, possibly even weekly. Unlike some (many) amazing writers on this site, I unfortunately don't have the capability or attention span to write chapters daily. Try to overlook the sometimes overly "formal" writing style, my only other experience with writing is for school essays.
Hope you enjoy the story regardless, maybe even as much as I do, since this is basically built on my love for fantasy and ideas for it, fueled by the many books, games and movies that I've loved over the years.
