Elly is an outgoing orphan displaced by war, raised in secret within the walls of the pacifist Sanctuary due to her mystical bond with the King's unicorns.  Owen is the bookish prince of a warlord king who is determined to bring peace to his country by overthrowing his imperialist father.  After Prince Owen discovers Elly, can they work together despite their differences to bring peace to the country they both love without revealing Elly's gift from the unicorns? Though Elly had always dreamed of leaving the Sanctuary, she had no desire to do it under the son of the King, but Prince Owen spies her practicing the defensive and pacifist fighting style that the Sanctuary created which prompts him to recruit her to his team. Elly now has to navigate a male heavy and warrior-based culture while keeping her forbidden origins secret from the prince and his men. Suddenly, staying cooped up in the peaceful refuge she's known her whole life feels a lot more appetizing.
