Kendrin Norlan used to live in a little village by a mountain pass that was on the border of three different lands ruled by different kings. Not that he ever bothered to learn the names of these lands or the kings because his parents had always told him that there was no need to ever leave the village. This was all well and good until that morning when armored men rode up the mountain pass with columns of infantry in tow. In a matter of hours, the cozy little corner that was the only place he ever knew since birth, was no more. Forced out into an unknown world, Kendrin has to use his skills of observation and a unique ability to rapidly process new information to survive and possibly thrive.
