Mirnan is an orphan living on the streets of Rassen, one of the last human settlements. One day, he ventures beyond the city in search of something valuable to trade with the Researchers, an organization dedicated to recovering and understanding devices created before the Great Fall, and, if possible, the War of Ruin. Mirnan stumbles upon the body of a humanoid creature and discovers a broken pocket watch on the corpse. But this is only the beginning of his troubles.
