The truth was that Itadori was unable to expand his domain efficiently, let alone use it in combat.
The Black Flash was the main reason this was possible, and yet Itadori was unable to eliminate Hanami.
His domain needed to last a long time, and Yuji wasn't able to maintain it for more than a minute, which made its strengthening effect almost insignificant.
His domain had three effects known to him until now.
First: The selected target will have its emission of cursed energy reduced according to the injuries it suffered before the domain, this being the guaranteed hit of the expansion.
Second: Over time, Itadori will gradually improve his physical power and his emission of cursed energy.
Third: Some specific elemental techniques will be rendered useless in the domain.
A Shikigami also seemed to live in his domain, but this was the first time Itadori had seen it.
It looked like a giant white wolf, and considering that it devoured the curse's arm in one go, it must have been strong.
If he wanted to use his innate domain more efficiently, he would have to increase his reserves of cursed energy, and there was only one way for him at the moment:
Devour the rest of Sukuna's fingers.
"Looks like the big man has arrived," Todo commented with a small smile.
Itadori, turning his gaze to the sky, noticed Gojo disappearing, his eyes returning to Hanami, who seemed to be trying to stop the bleeding from her arm... or at least what was left of it.
"What have you done?" Hanami asked urgently, her head turning towards Itadori. "Why can't I heal my arm?"
The bleeding seemed to gradually subside, but there were no signs that her arm would return, healing only to the point where her arm had been torn off.
'That's new,' Itadori smiled slightly. 'I need to learn more about it.'
"Damn it, it doesn't matter." With disdain, the curse placed her remaining hand on the ground, the roots slowly starting to cover it. "It's time to get out of here."
"Don't even think about it," Itadori growled, but before he could advance, Todo stopped him.
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
"Easy there, brother. Stay back, or you'll turn to dust."
Itadori blinked but quickly understood the reason for those words when the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, his head turning to see a strange purple light appearing in the distance in the forest.
'Shit, that's not going to be enough.'
Clenching his teeth, Itadori pointed his finger in the direction of Hanami, who seemed desperate to get away.
'This will be the second time I've used it today.'
Letting the cursed energy dance in his hand, Itadori narrowed his eyes in preparation.
'I hope it's enough.'
!
"Dismantle!"
Hanami raised her head as she felt a surge of energy appear in front of her, but before she could question what was about to happen, a cut appeared on her neck, blood gushing from the wound and making her quickly clench it.
A fatal mistake, because the instant she focused on healing the cut, a huge orb of purple energy appeared beside her, its mouth opening as she desperately covered her wooden body.
"..."
Itadori and Todo watched as the ground was torn apart by the energy sphere, leaving nothing behind but a crack that opened in the ground.
But Todo wasn't impressed by this. He had seen the cut suddenly appear on Hanami, and he immediately connected it with Itadori.
"Brother, that cut was you?"
But when he turned to speak to the boy, he was startled to see him plummet to the ground.
"Uh? Hey, brother! Brother, hang in there! Brotheeer!!!"
.
"You became friends with that gorilla pretty quickly, didn't you?"
In Megumi's room, the boy was meeting Nobara and Itadori while they enjoyed a pizza.
Itadori had numerous bandages all over his body from the damage he received from the special-grade curse, but they were too superficial for him to need rest.
Megumi, of the three, was certainly the most injured, because before facing Hanami and suffering the exhaustion of having his cursed energy drained, he had already faced Kamo.
"Actually, I don't really know what happened. I think he thinks he met me in high school, or something," Itadori said, biting into a slice of pizza and answering Nobara.
"Uh? How does that work?" Nobara blinked, clearly confused by what she had heard.
"I have no idea," Itadori just shrugged. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't explain this ability to implant memories.
Megumi watched the interaction in silence, focused only on eating a slice of pizza he had in his hands.
Itadori noticed the silence, his eyebrow rising in curiosity.
"How are you feeling, Fushiguro?"
Megumi took the question in silence, leaving his slice in the box while he looked thoughtful.
When it all happened, Megumi couldn't do much about the curse. In fact, he believed he had been more of a burden than anything else.
But after remembering Itadori's words, he understood that simply belittling himself for it wouldn't get him anywhere.
He needed to get stronger, or he would remain just that, a burden.
Itadori was already several steps above him, and he had been a sorcerer for less than three months.
He would change that.
"Itadori..."
Yuji blinked when he heard his name, his eyes moving to look directly at Megumi.
"I won't continue to be a burden... I'll get stronger, and overcome you!"
Itadori cracked a smile, his eyes emitting a sparkle that both his companions seemed to notice.
"This time I heard trust, so this is a promise between the three of us.
We're all going to get stronger."
"As expected from my brother! Always encouraging his teammates."
The three froze when a new voice suddenly sounded, and they turned to see Todo watching them with a smile.
"Man, that was weird," Itadori simply said, a sigh escaping his lips as he took a slice of pizza and handed it to the sorcerer.
