Synopsis
(An ISSTH Tale)
Sun Keung frowned, trying to bear the peculiar stench of death that filled the cavern. He kept walking deeper underground, until he finally saw… her.
“You again,” the grotesque witch laughed, sending shivers down Sun Keung’s spine.
“What do you want from this old woman?” she turned around in a sharp motion, then seemingly gazed at Sun Keung with the blind, clouded in grey pupils of her eyes.
Sun Keung suppressed the fear which was surging in his heart, reminding himself of who he was and what kind of power he wielded.
“You know what I want,” he snorted, trying to make himself bigger by being brash.
“Oh, of course I do, little child,” the witch laughed again, making Sun Keung feel as if she could see through his very being; that nothing could hide from her blind eyes.
“I am no longer a child,” he said, a mix of anger and fear mixed into his voice.
“Oh, you are,” the witch clucked her tongue with a scary smile on her face. “Five drops!” she said suddenly, reaching out for an empty vial.
Sun Keung’s face twitched when he heard the price. The first time, she demanded one drop, the second time, two. Now, she wanted five drops of blood from his cultivation base!
Cursing the woman in his mind, Sun Keung rotated his Qi and put a fingertip to the vial, forcing the five precious drops of his Cultivation Blood out.
“Ask your question,” the witch giggled, sealing the vial and putting it away.
“Tell me what kind of influence the youngest son of mine, Sun Tao, will have one my life,” Sun Keung asked immediately, having carefully formulated the question before coming here.
The witch fell silent for a few seconds. She then chuckled once, twice, and finally began laughing crazily.
Sun Keung was infuriated, he felt like attacking that vile woman and reducing her to dust, but wisely enough, he didn’t act on impulse and kept his mouth shut tight.
“The boy will grow to be immensely powerful, his strength will benefit you in many ways. However, in the end, he will be the cause of your demise,” the witch licked her lips, deciding that she had told Sun Keung not too little and not too much.
“Now, leave, little child,” she said hoarsely, beginning to search for something in her wardrobe.
Sun Keung swallowed heavily, then turned and left. The witch’s words had given him quite a fright, but after recalling how he had dealt with her two previous prophecies, he quickly calmed down.
There had been two great events that could have had disastrous effects on his life, both of which were foretold by this witch.
However, after learning of the first one, he managed to obtain an ancient legacy which allowed him to pursue the path of immortality.
The second prophecy, in turn, resulted in him rendering great merits and becoming one of the thirteen Elders of the Primal Fire Sect of the South Heaven!
His experiences proved one thing; that a foretold future could be changed! As long as he acted wisely, he could… no, he would avoid the disaster and in the end, will be the one who has benefitted the most!
“This child… I need to think of what to do with him,” Sun Keung mused silently. The moment he left the cavern, his body flickered and disappeared as he employed the Greater Teleportation.
