Ilyash is a simple young man from the village of Homstad.  He's always dreamt of becoming a powerful mage ever since he saw a wizard come through town as a kid.  But...it's never really been the right time.  Maybe next year?  The academy is pretty far and he's pretty sure he'd miss his family.  He should also probably figure out the murderous spirits whispering in his ears at all hours of the day and night. Laura is a born killer.  Or so she tells herself.  She doesn't really want to leave her best friends, Ilyash and Benjamin, but she's not going to let life pass her by.  She has a token to train with the houses of the Underdark, and she'll be damned if she doesn't use it. Benjamin has never really fit in, it hasn't helped that he towers feet above his best friends.  Nor does his green skin really fit in among the frosty white plains of the Northern Wastes.  He'd like to figure out how he ended up in Homstad, but his adoptive parents always change the subject whenever he asks.  Well, if they won't tell him he'll have to figure it out himself, even if that means leaving home. On the night of the Ritual of Age, our heroes are ready (or not) to start their adult lives and find their paths in this broken world.  Heroes, villains, gods, and old cults abound - but who cares about any of that?  Until someone wakes up the Blood God and the world ends, then maybe someone will care.
