[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Alexander is member of the Imperial Inquisition, an order dedicated to enforcing the laws and values of the empire. Stationed in a remote northern province under the guidance of his mentor, Alexander's short career has been uneventful so far. This begins to change with rumors of disappearances, murders, and cults spreading in defiance of the empire's strict philosophy. Alexander must contend with growing threats to the things he is sworn to protect while struggling with the conflict of the ideals he was taught and the realities of the world outside the Inquisition.
