Upon his untimely death, Knowledge Seeker Zalto finds himself whisked away from his world at the behest of an orchestra of gods before his soul fades away. Finding the man's selfless actions and the gods' negligence in allowing the cause of Zalto's death to happen, the gods wish to make amends by having Zalto be the person they'll reincarnate into another world. The only requirement from Zalto in all this was his assistance in transferring aether energy from his old world to the old one, which he didn't even need to raise a hand to do. Finding himself in the new world, Zalto is instantly enthralled by the world's magic system, in most part from his mother's and grandfather's blood flowing through him and fueling his insatiable desire for knowledge at any cost, spending his days finding interesting combinations for the magic using his past life as potential inspiration.
