William has set himself a goal and in achieving it he will honour his Grandfather's memory. He doesn't care about his family, their politics, their goals. William will become a delver and pit himself against The Dungeon and climb. Perhaps he will achieve glory and merits of his own. Or maybe he will die alone in the depths. He doesn't yet know how things will go, but he intends to see his resolution through to the end. Earnest the Undying taught him to do things in full or not at all and William keeps that teaching close to his heart.
