"Awakening, what is it?" Lhymen stared at Angus questioningly a mug of tea in his hand.
Angus guessed, "Awakening is when you discover your talentry?"
Lhymen nodded before adding, "There are many terms associated with talentry, words like 'Affinity', talents, stats, abilities all come together to make you who you are, it's your story. Your history."
"Have you gotten support from a God?" Angus asked Lhymen.
"No my dear child." He smugly answered. "Power comes to those who don't know how to control it, and control comes to those without power. You need to find the contrast in what you are, then you need to embody that to learn how to have both power and control." Lhymen nodded satisfied. "Your awakening will come soon." He added shortly after.
This realization put Angus' thoughts into a spur. 'Have I been going at this the wrong way?' He thought. He had considered just plastering on as much strength as humanly possible, or a combination of raw strength and agility. 'More finesse' He noted. It's quite important to remember where your origin came from or rather the origin of your power.
He decided to ponder on it more, what did he need? Well, he definitely needed to control his anger, or at least feel other emotions besides it and happiness. Everything just felt like a flash, then anger kept surfacing. It's annoying, tiring, and he wanted it over with, he wanted to control it.Maybe he would aim for some kind of warrior or mage? Shooting balls of frost sounded fun.
It would completely discard his innate potential though. He knew he was very got at getting close and slashing at things, but the problem was his affinities. Normally you had a conduit affinity, like an Affinity of the Sword or something in that line. Runes, axes, anything that can translate the control of power from your resources into reality is what's needed for a proper spell.
Sure you can just fling a splodge of stamina at enemies, but it'd likely just help them since there was no direction. Same with health and mana. And if your affinities didn't translate this, you'd just make spicy health or mana splodges. Ooh delicious mana of the Greater Primal Wolf, simply delicious. It was quite easy to see which translated. As long as it "contains" or can be attached to an object that's related to it's name, then it can manifest.
His Primal Wolf affinity would go good with wolves, he can then throw anything at that to make it a little bit better, or change the aspect, but that's useless unless you merge the affinities on a fundamental level. If your wolf would originally hit like a greater beast, but you made it nice and watery and it now simply purrs, it's stupidity incarnate. You can make a path like this, but it's better to stick with simpler things otherwise improving becomes hard.
He would then aim for an affinity of the sword, or runes, or axe, or all three. Combining them all would result in something a lot better than just slapping people with axes and swords and tossing the occasional rune, unless you're very certain that you like that kind of style. Angus preferred simplicity, so he would go with a sword, given the choice.
Nodding to himself Angus kept walking down the steps of the school, his thigh muscles are bulging at this point. The climbs up and down from the stairs helping him. At this point he had been in the academy for a month. He had laid down a very sturdy foundation for the future. His main issues were with stability, any discussions with Lhymen ended with him being told that any option would cause a fundamental change in himself. He simply didn't care at this stage, it was changing him in any case and he didn't want to be some crazy asshole.
Finally he found himself in front of the hall of gods, a hallway where there were many statues of questionably existing gods. There were quite a lot. "Jeppe God of Fire Rain, active in some worlds in the first universe, ruler of planet KovSirus", "Michael God of Ice and Blizzard, active only on the planet Pheralas in the first universe" "Jackal-" "Utopius-" "Mistseer-" Angus got too curious, "Mistseer God of Seeing through Mist and Mystery active in-" and he got bored.
He kept walking through the various statues, "Timmith-" He looked at the name, called the God a weasel and moved on. He really hoped he was right with them not existing, this was until he walked past a certain sparkling statue. The figure depicted a women sitting on a very comfortable looking chair, something he could agree with. "Seyvlia-" "Goddess of Comfort and Comfy Chairs, rules the whole universe and owns planet chair" He cracked a joke at the sparkling statue.
The next thing he knew he was transported into the world of darkness.
"Welcome Mortal"
He felt the sky reverberate. "Oh nice dream. Now where are the snacks?" He looked oddly at the woman in front of him, "You have any?" He was genuinely joking, he had zero belief in any great god existing. The woman just looked at him with confusion, then apprehension, finally a friendly look appeared on her face.

"I have no such thing" The Goddess spoke, the sky no longer vibrated.
"Why didn't the sky vibrate?" Angus asked her, quite curious.
"Because I stopped exerting my will in this reality." The Goddess spoke again.
Angus nodded like it was a perfectly rational explanation. "May I know your name, madam that has unconsensually entered my dreams."
The Goddess shook her head, "I am the Goddess of Comfort and Comfy Chairs. And you're here to be made into a chair." Her will exerted once more.
Angus looked confused, but nodded. "My name is Seyvlia, Say - vil - ia," she spelled it out.
Angus nodded again, he really hated repeating a nod, but what can you say or do to a goddess that decided to step into your dreams in order to turn you into a chair?
Seyvlia giggled then spoke again,"In actuality I'm the Goddess of the Moon, you know why you are here, correct?"
Angus replied, "I do not."
"You made a decision to come here."
"Did I?
She couldn't hide her snicker, "You're here to establish a belief in me, and supposedly carry out a ritual in order to become my disciple."
"That sounds like a lot of work." Angus honestly said.
"Well the world is quite unique, the rules of reality, the rules of the multiverse can be bent in some ways. The ritual is mostly a courtesy, the power comes from me, so I can control it in some manner." She smiled.
"Well it seems like it's finally time to awaken." Seyvlia got up from her little comfy cushion and walked over to Angus, he could feel a being a lot more powerful than he could ever be approach. He was sweating metaphorical buckets, if you could even sweat there. He managed to eventually calm himself down, he couldn't even get angry, it was just pure dominance in power.
Seyvlia was in front of him now, yet he didn't kneel. He closed his eyes and puckered his lips. He received a slap in return, it wasn't painful in anyway, more-so playful. A hand touched his forehead, and from there it felt like his world opened. Information spread throughout his consciousness. He knew about how to access his talent tree. [Weapon Mastery] and [Scars of a Veteran] stood in the same row, he could vaguely feel what came next, but he decided not to dabble right then and there.
He decided to manifest his talentry.

He disagreed with his rating of intelligence. The rating went from 1 Terrible to 10 Limit of a Human. It essentially called him an uneducated fool. He didn't spend his single point yet though. 'Wait, if I have 2 intelligence now that I have a level, did I have 0 before this? How was I functional?'
Seyvlia couldn't keep herself from laughing outloud, "2 Intellgience, what a moron." She calmed down quite quickly though. Angus didn't fault her for that. His clothing appeared quite useless, no stats, fucking nothing. "Did you just swear in front of me? Well no matter, there's one more thing to deal with."
Angus looked at Seyvlia and nodded. "Do you wish you to deal with the problem of your bloodline?" Angus thought for a second.
"How would I do that?" He asked her.
If schadenfreude had an expression, then that was the manifestation of it, "Did you read your stats?"
Angus nodded, feeling a chill creep up.
"You figured it out didn't you?" She asked.
"Do I have to castrate myself?" He asked her.
"Ah, that wouldn't be enough, simply cutting off your balls doesn't influence your blood, now does it?" She spoke.
He wanted to say that it did in some ways, but it was negligible at this point. "What do you suggest, he asked her."
"Well, you'll have to become a woman obviously. And I can do that at least." She waved her fingers as if doing magic.
Angus groaned,"The principle may well kick me out if he doesn't recognize me."
"That's what you get for insulting beings beyond your imagination" She said.
"Can't you fix it?" He asked.
"It's a bloodline, I'd have to rip you apart to even affect it, but then you'd be dead, do you accept it or not?" She asked with finality.
"Fine." He hoped that it wouldn't affect his life too much, it honestly didn't bother him so much, at least he won't have as much ball sweat.
Seyvlia simply smiled knowingly, power coalesced around him.
You Have Been Offered A Bloodline Conversion. [Patriarchal Unstable] -> [Matriarchal Stable]
He nodded and the prompt was accepted, before he could speak further. "Payment." Seyvlia spoke.
Name Angus -> Seyvlae
You Have Been Offered A Greater Divine Blessing(Maximum) By Seyvlia
"The fuck am I paying you for?" She spoke, realizing the difference in her voice quite quickly.
"For preventing you from eventually turning insane after you have sired a few children, patriarch." Seyvlia joked.
She accepted it, "I'm not getting named after you."
Seyvlia sighed, "Fine."
Name Seyvale -> Lunetta
Seyvlia commented,"Little moon."
Lunetta nodded, and spoke,"Any chance I get a few affinities, and perhaps a sword or something?"
Seyvlia spoke with a smile, "That's not entirely possible, not the last bit anyway, but I can give you something special due to the blessing."
Your Lesser Affinity of the Moon has been upgraded to Greater Affinity of the Moon
"I thought that wasn't possible." Lunetta spoke.
"Perks of simply making my influence a tiny bit stronger with some help from the blessing, it's about time you popped back into the world." Seyvlia spoke thoughtfully.
