"Tournament of Legends"
| The Tournament of Legends is starting soon, prepare for a battle involving creatures of legends all given a new chance to advance. Become stronger or be fed on. |
The tournament sounded quite nice, she couldn't wait to go fight mountainous behemoths with her blade, but first she had to figure out how to use the new weapon she had gained. "So, how can you be of use to me?" She asked him.
"I can force enemies into my illusionary realm, but I will need time to allow it to work for longer durations, it's honestly not the best kind of ability, but it has it's uses." She heard the mental message.
"So you're saying you're useless aside from setting traps?" She asked.
"Partially, but I can also grow with you. You see with our bond our experience gains are doubled then shared, if that makes sense." He answered.
They were currently standing in front of the dungeon, the forest was in front of them with the cave leading to the dungeon to the back of her. She pet the bunny on it's head gently. It had brought her great struggle but due to their bond now she could somewhat feel his emotions. There was quite a long way to go before she was ready for the tournament.
She almost cursed herself. She had completely forgotten about her professions. Well, she could do that after the tournament. First, she had to go kill some gnolls.
...
Identifying the first gnoll:
[Gnoll Guard Level 17]
This was the highest one she could probably take before simply dying to it. She didn't bother utilizing her moon body against weak enemies. A Moon Slash here, and a Hilt strike there. It wasn't much of a challenge for her, and soon it was on the ground in pain. Unlike the special ones she faced, this one died quite quickly so she moved on to enemies of a similar level.
After grinding for a bit, she started to learn more about how to use her moon slash, some angles were better than others, and some places created better ailment wounds than others, some were more effective against her mana, meaning that she had to distribute her power with every slash to get the maximum output on damage.
She had plopped her points into 2 Talent points and had 2 remaining, she used those in Strength and the others into the warrior tree, gaining more weapon mastery and toughness in the process. A particularly painful slash later another Gnoll Guard dropped to the ground. She had only just spent her previous points, and now she had a few more, great.
She shoved any points she got into Strength. She had ended up gaining two more levels before her killing spree ended, all that was left was the Royal Guards, who she had no intention of fucking with. Her skills had improved quite a lot,she could even merge affinities at this stage, she hoped to get an upgrade for her moonlit slash.
It was quite good, but she felt like she could improve it a little. She had gotten tired of fighting the gnolls, none of them were like the first one she faced, all of them felt common. She guessed she had taken out a generation of gnoll talent, and that this would be the last line of royal guards, at least for this generation.
Her water footwork had also improved, she could now push her water affinity mana into her soles then boost her a little before exploding them sending her flying a bit. It took a lot of finesse to get right, timing mattered, exploding late meant that you'd be sent flying too far, exploding early meant you might not be flying at all.
She couldn't find any uses for her rain or storm affinity yet, she had channeled some on her blade, but it felt wrong, the same with storm. Channeling rain affinity into her body just made her feel cooler. She tried to keep it up as much as possible, storm made her more explosive, which is quite nice. What she aimed for was to get her skills to their peak, then upgrade them into a different branch.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Otherwise it'd be like swinging soft sticks at enemies. It's better to create a sturdy whole than make expansions off of it, so you had to slowly facilitate the growth of your skills. After some searching she finally found something interesting.
[Gnoll Royal Guard of Defiance Level ??]
Fuck this. Turning around she ran like a demon possessed. Every step placed made her go a little bit faster, still honing her skill and making progress in injecting her affinities into her water footwork skill, it was mostly moon affinity at this stage and it only helped a bit so she usually didn't bother. The effect was around 10% greater for 3x the cost.
She had mostly finished her preparation for the tournament, she was quite concerned that something might happen, then she heard a gong go off inside her head, she looked around wearily, until she heard loud laughter. 'Why must you always scare me like this?' She internally groaned before she was transported to her god's realm once more, the rabbit tagging along.
"Well, let's get business out of the way first, you have to focus more on your skills, and your professions." Seyvila said, "Also you better win that tournament, rewards given by the rules are quite coveted."
"There is you'll definitely want." She teased, Lunetta leaned forward, now she was interested. "An affinity orb" Lunetta looked confused.
"An affinity orb will give you an affinity of something you really need, at the normal level, this means you can go from zero to hero." She smiled. "Now that was all I wanted to say, go practice your professions!" And just like that Lunetta was shooed away, happy with the result though.
The first thing Lunetta did when she got back was walk around her area a bit, collecting grasses and very thin reeds as well as some twigs, afterwards she went looking around and found a helpful cloth producer. [Elusive Wool Sheep Level 15] She simply walked up to it and patted it's head, it was a bit apprehensive at first, but eventually succumbed to the petting.
Using her sword she sheared off the wool from the sheep. With her skillset, anything that's biological can be transformed into fibers then into cloth.

The tailor helped make the shirts, the cloth worker made the parts of the cloth used as well as structure it. Right now it was a bit annoying since she only got the bare basics of everything. Eventually she went to a tree and felled it, it took a single, but powerful [Moonlit Slash] She had pored in around half her mana, mostly to see the effect and she had immediately regretted it.
Four trees had fallen, she had hastily directed the power into the ground, creating a shiny gorge. It was basically emanating moon power at this stage. She didn't have any interest in refining normal rocks and shit so she began hacking up the trees and tossing the pieces into her inventory. Sawdust was still useful, but she couldn't connect fibers yet, tie them together yes, but tieing bits of sawdust together is more effort than it's worth.
She planned on learning that connect skill very soon, although wearing plant fibers would be uncomfortable at first, growing and nurturing trees is quite easy, compared to nurturing sheep, and the resources were quite a bit lower. So even if she didn't have a profession to grow trees, she could at least make them a bit better without all that stuff, giving her basically free materials.
Upon finding a nice spot where she could begin doing shit she took out the logs, she studied them for a moment before cutting into their cross sections with moonlit slash, soon they were nicely chopped, almost no sawdust created from the cuts due to the strength of the wood and the precision of her cuts, upon seeing the cross section she began using moonlit slash more liberally with little mana.
Slowly long strings of wooden fibers are. She would eventually refine all these fibers to be more valuable using her refine ability. It didn't take long... Actually it took fucking forever to chop up bits of wood. Her impatience had caused the little stone site she worked at to have lots of little fine cuts in it. She hoped to get an ability to do this faster, oh wait she had one, it was just crap.
Next she took all the strings and used [Refine Fiber] on them all, she felt like she could adjust the material properties a bit, so she went with a more malleable version of them and added a hint of toughness. After doing all this stuff she still had no idea what to do with the wool, she would likely make undergarments with it later. It's quite soft.
With the fibers made, now came the hard part, or rather a part hard for her, because she had around a tenth of her mana remaining. She calmed down and began resting. As long as you worked your materials correctly you could essentially turn lead into gold. That was in essence what she was doing right now.
