A lonely silhouette could be seen slumping on a bench as the trees around his were rustling violently due to the strong winds.
It was a quiet and secluded area that no one would take the trouble to go up to as the path here was covered in thorns and thistles. But it was his favourite place to go so that he could contemplate on his life.
The moonlight could be seen glowing on his face as the light slowly revealed his dead eyes and his messy black hair.
Allec`s chest could be seen rising as he took a big gulp of the cold night air. He then proceeded to slump down and release a loud sigh filled with depression.
It was an unusual scene but it was a scene that could be witnessed throughout the whole of England as after this two week break, it would be finals week where every college student would need to take their finals exam.
It would be the longest weekend for Allec as he knew his anxiety attacks were going to keep him on his toes throughout the whole weekend. He wasn’t smart at all, if anything he was below average but luckily a majority of his college work was course work so he had managed to get the highest marks for them as he only needed to put more time into his work. But unfortunately all his subjects also required him to have a final exam which was worth 40 percent of his overall grade. He had confidence in passing the exams.
But he knew that it wouldn’t be enough for him to get into the good universities and he would have to stick with his local universities.
Although that would be fine with him, it wouldn’t do so well with his family. Although he was born in England his parents were born and raised in Asia which meant that education was everything for his family. If he didn’t get accepted into a good university it would bring shame upon his family and his family would be a target of disdain from his relatives.

Even though he didn’t care if he was a joke among his relatives he knew full well that his parents cared. He was fully aware that if he bought back his average marks he would disappoint his parents a lot. Even though they were strict they had worked as hard as possible to give him all the luxuries in life and he did not want to disappoint them as the only reason they moved here was so that he and his siblings could have a better education.
As Allec finally let go of his face he stared at his shaking hands as drops of water slowly fell on them. His chest was starting to contrict. He couldn’t help but cry as he felt himself suffocating due to the anxiety.
He looked up at the stars as tears slowly fell down his face.
The hill had the best view of the sky and because of the strong winds there were no visible clouds blocking out the sky either so the starts could be viewed in their full glory.
Ring! Ring!
He quickly took his phone out of his hoody. He was still using an old phone even though his parents offered to buy him a new one for getting into college, he had refused as he felt that he didn’t deserve to use their money.
As he stared at the screen, realising that it was his sister video calling him he quickly wiped his tears and accepted the call.
Before he could even say hello his sister quickly demanded at him “Quickly show me the sky, apparently we can see a meteor shower today”.
With a wry smile he quickly changed his camera to the front facing camera and started recording the sky.
He had always felt pity for his sister as she had a sickly body since she was young so even though she love to go outside she could never be out for too long. He had started climbing this hill just so he could take pictures of the stars to show her since she couldn’t be out at night as it was too much for her sickly body to handle.
As he was enjoying hearing his sister’s laughter he heard her shouting “Wow look, look, those meteor look so pretty.”
He then said in a teasing voice “I better be careful than, it might hit me”
Allec couldn’t help but laugh out loud as he slowly looked towards the sky again.
But his laughter immediately stopped as he said in bewilderment “Yo sis doesn’t that look a bit close.”
But before he could hear a reply a bright light zoomed right at his forehead making him tumble of the bench, landing him on top of the bushes.
