Holy white light radiated throughout the chalk marks. As the undead pushed themselves against the barrier, it created a large sound that resonated, similar to what a shield does when a blade strikes it.
Lawrence got off from the ground, watching his handiwork.
"T-That...! Not even crusaders can do this!" the worker who had told them the story gasped, along with many others as the undead was kept out of the holy barrier that Lawrence erected. Lawrence, still plenty wary, held his sword and shield tightly, ready to jump at the nearest enemy in auto combat mode if the barrier collapsed.
"What... Is... All... This..."
A voice drifted through the air as if every word had to be spat out with some force.
As the humans turned their attention to the source of the sound, there was a man in plate armour, the image of a dragon on it. His skin was a pale blue-ish grey, part of his jaw missing and an eye dangling limply from a socket.
"M-Marquis Donovan?" the storyteller's voice raised an octave, as he sank to the ground.
The undead Marquis swung its' head slowly to look at the storyteller, what seemed like a grin spread across his otherwise horrifyingly expressionless face.
"I never knew that I would see you here as a..... Brick... Layer... Guard Captain Leviathan..."
Craig looked in alarm at the storyteller who was cowering. The other workers quietly moved away from the disgraced Guard Captain as the Marquis seemed to enjoy the sight of him shivering in fear.
"Come... It is time... For you to... Be at my... Side... Again..." Marquis Donovan said, taking a step forward, before walking into the same holy barrier.
"W...What is this..." Marquis Donovan groaned, his hand reaching out to touch the barrier that was impenetrable. Lawrence, on the other hand, noticed more and more undead converging on the area. This wasn't a choice... Think... Lawrence... Think... What could he do to not leave the circle and get rid of all of them together...

These aren't strong zombies... What could turn them away...
Exactly!
Lawrence gripped the amulet he wore, which had the sigil of the Sun God which he raised into the air, selecting his Guardian's ability to Turn Undead in a massive radius. Any zombies that were too weak will instantly be destroyed.
The interface once again sprung to life.
Recite the following lines in order for Turn Undead to activate.
Lawrence held his amulet up, looking at the moon.
"Foolish... Mortals... This... Mere... Barrier... Cannot hold me... Hold us..." Marquis Donovan laughed sinisterly as he swung his blade against the barrier. His blade simply bounced off and he scowled. Looks like the mere barrier was doing an incredible job holding him back at least.
"By the power of the holy and all that is good, I, Lawrence Carstein, compel all of you to turn away and do no more harm! Go back to the shadows! Go back to the abyss, go back to whichever hole all of you have crawled from! Go, now!" Lawrence roared as the holy symbol glowed red, white and back to red.
From the symbol, a jet of holy light shot into the air, forming an umbrella over the area Lawrence stood. As the undead followed the trail of the white light slowly coursing through the skies over them, suddenly, one by one, they collapsed. At the point where they collapse, a light blue wisp appeared, entering the barrier-
Wisps!?
As Lawrence turned his attention to the first one that neared him, it was the shape of a woman who might have been beautiful when she was young, dressed in a bar wench's attire.
"Thank you..." the wisp whispered, before fading away.
More and more wisps appeared as the undead crumbled, thanking Lawrence. They ranged from a man in a monk's outfit to a small child, their voices however, sounded genuinely thankful to Lawrence.
As the undead horde collapsed, the only one standing was Marquis Donovan, who was utterly shocked.
"A...Are you... Related to... Father Karl Franz..." Marquis Donovan hissed as he took several steps back, parts of skin having flaked off, seemingly a consequence of the Turn Undead spell.
"What? No!" Lawrence denied as he started walking towards Donovan.
At this point, a large swarm of bats suddenly crashed against the barriers, briefly concealing Lawrence's vision, before enveloping Marquis Donovan and in a flash, the bats and Marquis Donovan were both gone.
As Lawrence scanned his interface for any signs of undead, he heard loud sighs of relief from the workers as well as Craig.
"Nice going there, Lawrence!" Craig said, lowering his bow.
"Now... Guard Captain Leviathan..." Lawrence turned to the man whose true identity had been revealed, who was sitting on a stump, shaking with fear.
"It will be amazing if you can be a bit more honest with us now, seeing that you are coming with us through the Forest Altis." Lawrence said, sheathing his sword.
And with this, Guard Captain Leviathan began his story, the story of a Guard Captain who attempted to sabotage his superior's orders in every way.
