Society is made by humans; built by humans; perpetuated by humans. Humans are the only species to have built society, and are the only ones in it
Indeed, that appears to be the case. However...
[Inhuman]
That is the name given to those who are human, yet not quite.
What makes an [Inhuman] inhuman?
There is no set answer; all [Inhuman] bloodlines have different attributes.
Is it perhaps the ability to bend reality using [Soul Energy] in their own unique way? [Magic], as some call it?
Or is it the physiological difference that they may exhibit? Extra appendages, extra orifices?
They’re human enough, but they’re not quite human.

A bustling high-school classroom: a scene that can be seen every day. Completely normal, by all means, at first glance.
“Why is Yamaguchi-san so nice to you anyway, Saito?”
“Because we’re childhood friends, Tanaka. No matter how many times you ask, the answer will not change, you know.”
“You sure it's not something more? You catch my drift?”
You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.
“My previous answer will not change, and neither will this one no matter how much you ask me, you know?”
A sharp flick was delivered as a response to Tanaka’s forehead.
“Oww Saito. So cruel! And to your best friend. Well, your only friend.”
“Could you have not added that? Are you asking for another flick, you punk?”
“Awawa, stop! But you lucky bastard; the goddess of the school won’t even cast that popular third-year senpai a glance, but she talks to you on a daily basis, you know!”
Yuudai Saito, and his otaku best (only) friend, Haru Tanaka had such a conversation.
The object of discussion was none other than Shiori Yamaguchi, idol of the school. Many had fallen for her onee-san-like personality and her calm and composed demeanor. She also, by chance, happened to be Yuudai’s childhood friend.
A relationship that brought Yuudai untold trouble, specifically in the form of a delinquent by the name of Kentaro Hikawa. The bullying never got physical, but that didn’t mean it hurt less. After all, the “Delinquent King” had set his eyes on a target, and how dare a mere childhood friend get more attention from her?
“Oi! Tanaka! Why are you still with that loser? Again, we’ll let you join our group if you leave that guy to suffer alone!”
Well speak of the devil. The King had taken notice.
“No matter how many times you ask, the answer will not change, you know.”
The otaku made such a response, then shared a knowing glance with the bullying target.
The delinquent was about to say another sentence, but then---
“Hikawa-san, are you bothering Yuu-kun again? That won’t do, you know.”
The goddess had arrived.
“Ah, Yuu-kun! Want to go home together?”
Yuudai was in yet another dilemma. If he agreed, he would be torn apart by the goddess fan club due to jealousy. If he declined, he would be torn apart by the goddess fan club as well with the occasional “How dare he dismiss the blessings of the goddess, such insolence will not be tolerated!” thrown into the mix.
At least one would defer the hateful glares till later.
“Yeah, yeah, Yamaguchi-san.”
“Fuu… so cold! Call me Shiori-nee-chan like you used to!”
Yuudai felt the stares bore into his skull.
---
“Ufufu… it sure is nice to walk home with Yuu-kun like we used to when we were small!”
“... likewise.”
“Fuu… again, so cold! Or… could it be that you’re conscious of me now since onee-chan has grown to have an adult woman's charm and is your fiance?”
“Stop calling yourself onee-chan, we’re the same age.”
Indeed, she was Yuudai’s fiance.
“Yuu-kun even refuses to admit it in public! Yuu-kun is such a tsun, ufufu~”
“If I could do it without being murdered in a back alley maybe I could do it!” Of course, this sentence was not said out loud.
“It's okay though. Onee-chan will wait for Yuu-kun! After all, you’re my [Compatible]!”
