Former Preacher turned handyman, and avenging angel for God, Michael Finn, has a solitary life. His little world of smooth blues, Alcoholics Anonymous, and killing the worst humans the state has to offer, gets turned upside down in a twist of fate possibly orchestrated by God himself... or a hallucination of God himself. After hitting a hooker with his van, everything he knows is about to change, when Mike discovers not only does the lucky girl seem unharmed, but she happens to be Tanner, the Decatur Decapitator, the very serial killer he's been following for weeks, and she's more trouble than he ever bargained for. One nosey Detective obsesses with finding the truth, while a shadow organization struggles to bury it. Chaos unravels as Mike's faith is tested by bullets, his loyalty tempted by flesh, and his life invaded by this strange beautiful creature of death he can't help but slowly fall for. As time goes on, Hitman/Holyman Mike discovers that he isn't the only professional Hitman in town with a mission, and it becomes very clear that a war is brewing, and the only thing unclear is who's side everyone is on, and who will survive when the smoke clears.
