You always hear about the Hermit living in the woods, the mysterious figure who trains our dashing young protagonist in the way of magic and the sword.  But who is this Hermit? What is he doing there? And most importantly of all, what happened when you piss him off?  This is a story of a bored old man in the woods, taking on an apprentice and seeing the world.
