Polar always had a problem with death, but that's a problem for destruction mages, which requires them to end a small animal's life as part of an exam. Having failed this exam for multiple years, this year's exam is different and his teacher changes his life forever without his permission. Now, he can't even enter his own home, and he finds it peculiarly easy to end life. There's not enough time to think about that, though, as he has to say farewell to his single dad to join a war. Whose war? No one knows just yet.
