Samsara is a death world, full of genetically modified chimera that can perform supernatural feats through the use of qi. Humans, however, have extech - extraterrestrial technology - that allows them to keep the wilderness at bay. The only downside is the fact that most extech is powered by coins - quartz coin batteries - which humans cannot produce on their own. It is up to Seekers, cyborgs that follow the Rule of Three - never getting more than three significant cybernetic upgrades - to find coins in Samsara and use them to keep their settlements alive. ORCs and ELFs, despite being unable to use a majority of extech due to being identified as inhuman, actively work to claim coins and land for themselves. Humans, unfortunately, are losing this war. But what if there were humans who had these reality-defying powers like the chimera? Would they be able to turn the tide?  Heaven Help Us follows three young women who find themselves thrown into a wider world they never knew existed, and find that they may not be such small fish in their new pond.
