The Second Light had arrived thousand of years ago, casting brilliance on a land doomed to succumb to the denizens of hell. When the light spoke, humanity listened and manifested its might, conjuring powerful abilities to cast demons back to the rotten depths. Anwar Agnor, heir to the throne, is the only man of his bloodline not recognized by the Second Light, and it breeds doubt in himself, the kingdom, and his father. Guided by his handler Anshul, he is set to acquire the title of Paladin and finishes the final prerequisites to become one, but King Barak Agnor has other morbid plans. A darkness decimates kingdoms to the north and forces survivors southward. Stories about its destruction and size ostensibly scares the council into action, but the council is aware of the impending doom, for it coincides with their pursuit to bring forth the anti-vita, a beacon for the Great Reclaimer, destroyer of worlds. The mighty king has long been the appropriate vessel, but they set their eyes on Anwar after an eventful ceremony. Anwar is caught between two schemes.
