Synopsis
Everyone died at once in a nuclear holocaust, which overwhelmed heaven (which is meant to wash and rebirth souls or, in case of overflow, simply reincarnate them into another world)... let's just say some mistakes were made when it came to balancing the traits that reincarnated souls start out with in their new lives.
Emperor Trait--effectively a god-king, but without requiring a massive army to keep his own people in line. All of his/her subjects adore and would put their lives on the line for their beloved ruler. As for the military, they receive unbelievable buffs whenever acting in the will of the emperor. Oh, and the Emperor's enemies, when they lose, become unshakably loyal allies.
Weapons Master Trait--Practically Undefeatable in battle. The more opponents a weapons master faces at once, the more powerful they become. Every weapon is used masterfully, and his/her advanced perceptions are exceptionally fine-tuned so that nothing ever catches him/her off-guard. This master of all things deadly and dangerous (a surprisingly long list) also carries a terrifying presence that with shatter the morale of any weak-willed foe--regardless of how many others are backing them. Not to mention, their speed and ability to read intent as well as predict movements grants the weapons master an easy victory even against the most skilled opponents. Truly a formidable force, even more so when the odds are not in his/her favor.
Grand Healer--living proof that pacifism can be overpowered. While others may grow strong to face this harsh world, the grand healer simply nerfs the rest of the world. On top of being able to heal anyone from nearly any injury, very few creatures (intelligent or otherwise) will attack those with this trait. Those who do will be in for a very unfortunate surprise.
This next one has to do with magic, but is fairly uncertain. Depending on your decisions, you can become an Archmage, Archwizard or Warlock. The differences between them are fairly tedious, but the universal abilities of this trait are still quite shocking, to say the least. Infinite MP (Magical Power, not points. This isn't a videogame, it's just very similar), immunity to magical attacks and no cast time. On top of this, they have a dramatically boosted intelligence compared to the others, which allows them to learn new skills quickly. This is arguably the most dangerous trait so far, as a clever (if malevolent) user could find a way to delete the world from existence. But I'm sure that won't happen. Bad things that bring boring endings only happen in real life or with terrible authors...
So, um, trust that this story doesn't have a terrible author, I suppose. :/
Finally, we come to Nerd--a trait for those who want to build their own path. No skills, only one ability allowing them to learn a little faster than the rest (about on par with the Archmage's high intelligence). Debuffs make it difficult to level strength, agility and endurance stats, too, so anyone with this trait would have to rely heavily on the skill they learn along the way. Relatively solid, given time, but... not reliable.
But wait... this novel has an "overpowered MC" tag? And, of course, the main character isn't going to get a normal trait--no no no, that would be too boring. Then again, how could a vanilla trait like "Nerd" possiby result in an overpowered main character?
Hm...
