A magic of unknown origin has caused the dead to rise from their graves to bring about destruction, death and misery to the Midlands. Countless lives have been lost and hundreds of settlements have been swept away by an endless horde of undead that marches by night. The denizens of the great city of Haganhalt believe that they may very well be all that remains of humanity. Though the world around them has been reaped of life, the survivors are determined to weather the storm behind their city's great walls. They have steeled themselves against the dark and dare not surrender themselves to that which may appear inevitable. The city's greatest threats however may lie within. Religious tensions, shattered nerves and petty politics are as much a danger to the world's last citadel as the horde of dead that surround it.
