Synopsis
Quickfang, a short-legged herder in a tribe of anthropomorphic dogs, has finally achieved the rank of guardian. He will be able to leave the fortifications of the village's stone age walls and protect the sheep, a task decreed millennia ago by the tribe's long-dead two-legged gods. But on his first day as a guardian, he discovers that the society he serves is far removed from the ideals he once thought sacred.
Quickfang begins to doubt his fellow guardians, and wonders if the old gods were truly just. He befriends the sheep, meets secretly with wolves, and learns forbidden truths about the old gods. Particularly the ways they enforced their power.
There must be a way to protect the sheep from both the dogs of his tribe and the wild wolves that prowl outside the walls. If Quickfang wants to do what he thinks is truly right, he will have to turn his back on his tribe and everything he has ever believed in.
Guardian is a furry fantasy story, inspired by the story of Prometheus.
