Synopsis
Lizzy Hawthorn was convicted of setting the fire that killed her parents and brother one year ago, but no one but her knows that the conviction was wrongful. Placed in a facility for rich kids charged with high-profile crimes by a distant rich aunt, Lizzy is determined to get out at any cost- even when it results in her death.
But Lizzy finds out there’s life after death when a strange girl named Redde wearing a wedding dress stained with blood takes her to the In-Between (also known as the ‘Tween, or Hellgates), the residence of those waiting to ascend to Heaven or descend to Hell via the elevator in the center of the city. But Lizzy’s fate is different from the rest, as she will stay in the In-Between as one of the six queens of Hellgates and finalize the first part of His and Hades’ prophecy.
As tension brews between Heaven and Hell, with a dark corruption spreading throughout the former, the queens must decide which realm to side with before war breaks out between them. Friends will be betrayed, hearts will be stolen, and battles will be waged.
Graveyard Queens is a young adult fantasy with queer and BIPOC representation, perfect for fans of Wicked Saints and Hotel Magnifique. It is the first book in the Hellgates series.
