Every child is born to chase the falling star. Led astray by the scattered light towards the sky unknown. filling their pockets with hopes and dreams, yearning for the endless deep blue. But now we’ve all grown up, now we have our pockets full. and there’s no place left for senseless longing. The date was 7th July summer 2021. She had just finished her semester’s final exam. Being an average student in an alright university, she would know better than to keep holding on to her dreams. Back when she was in elementary school, every teacher praised her brilliance, “she was a genius.” They say, “she will have a bright future ahead”. Back then, she had a big dream. “I want to go to Harvard or MIT.” She says, “I want to travel the world”. Oh, the sweet clueless child, the girl may wish, but her grades kept dropping and dropping, and so does her ideal. Then, today shall be the conclusion. She will relinquish any longing left from that dream and wake up to the collective world. Today, she will send that grandiose dream up to the sky where it belongs, blown into the wind, fly, fly away. “Were you satisfied with this outcome, child?” Its bodies were patterns of black and white. Its white stripes mirror the image of a cloudy sky, while its dark feathers bejeweled with glittering stars. It spreads its wings towards the horizon, covering up the sky. The corvid lowered its head to her eye levels. The entity observed her, waiting for her resolution. No, no she is not. But the corvid already knows. “Very well then, I will let you live the dream you yearn for.”  The fowl spoke, pointing its beak to the stars above. “Until the great triangle sets into the horizon, you are to take my power and roam free on this earth to where your heart may take you.” unsure, she asked “and then what happens after that?” “Up to you, whether you decide to relinquish your dream or reconcile it, whether you want to strive for or abandon it. But once the triangle falls, my power will find its way back to the sky. Never once try to reclaim it back with a vaguely aroused will but with unyielding resolve”. The date was 7th July, summer 2021. For the next three months, she will cling to that childish dream. Longing to rekindle its fire. This is a story about dream, purpose, delusion, love, expectation, decision, perseverance and loyalty.  This story is a farewell towards the endless sky.
