Lenn's world was on the brink of utopia—until the virus hit. Lenn has spent her life striving to be of worth to society. Her crowning achievement was her work as a psychological director on the Happiness Recode System (HRS), a holistic treatment utilising both psychotherapy and neural adjustments to overcome mental distress and optimise mental wellness. With a steadily increasing proportion of society attaining enhanced productivity, a sense of purpose and overall mental wellness, it seemed as if the world was well on its way to becoming a utopia. That is, until a virus begins causing malfunctions in the HRS, unravelling clients' progress and plunging them back into their past distress, or worse. As Lenn fights to uncover the cause of the virus, she reaches out to the Ether, an entity claiming to be the omniscient, omnipotent creator of their world. The answers, however, are not what she wanted or expected.  Devastated, Lenn now has to puzzle out the origins of the Ether, and find a way to make peace with the shattering revelations.
