Arri is a gremling, a type of gnome, which in this post-apocalyptic setting means being an accursed freak of nature. In her world, survivors cling on to the last remains of fading magic, and any progress is held back by alien soul-devourers, the Nether, who treat this place as their feeding ground. A wizard's apprentice, she's basically doing the work of a housemaid, but it never has dilluted her thirst for knowledge. Struggling with her minor disabilities and having her imaginary friend, Rita, as the only real companion, little does she know that a real identity and a great plan exists behind this persona. Her quest will take her to developing her full potential she has no idea about yet, constructing devices, leading research in the least expected places, learning the truth about her race and maybe even saving the world.
