Synopsis
Glenn Garcia was the most average young adult imaginable—forgettable face, unremarkable life, and no sense of purpose. Then, without warning, he dies. Struck down in what seems like a random accident, Glenn watches his own funeral, where barely anyone shows up except his grieving grandmother. Adrift as a lost soul, he is greeted by Mora, a mysterious woman who delivers a cryptic message: Your mother was murdered. Before he can ask more, she vanishes, leaving Glenn with more questions than answers.
Before he can process this revelation, Anubis, the god of death himself, appears to escort him to judgment. However, when Glenn steps onto the sacred scales of fate, something unprecedented happens—his soul is perfectly balanced. Neither righteous nor wicked, he is an anomaly. Rather than condemn him to an afterlife he doesn’t belong in, Anubis offers Glenn a job: Become a Reaper.
Thrown into the bureaucratic nightmare that is the Underworld Office, Glenn quickly realizes that the afterlife is run like a corporate machine, complete with HR demons, IT Techlops (Cyclops tech workers), and eldritch security guards. Assigned a desk and a scythe, Glenn is paired with Canis, a wisecracking, skeletal field training officer with a penchant for sarcasm and bad advice. But Glenn’s new job is anything but simple—each soul he reaps carries a lesson, a piece of a puzzle that slowly reshapes how he sees life, death, and himself.
