Synopsis
This is a complete remaster of my other fiction, "Gift".
On his eighteenth birthday, Ajal expected a simple Gift from the gods—perhaps a small blessing, like his family had always received. Instead, he finds himself chosen for a destiny he never wanted, bound to a dark, ancient power that pulls him beyond death itself.
In a world where every young adult is granted a unique Gift, Ajal’s life is turned upside down when he encounters Kaito, a self-proclaimed hero with a shadowy past. After a deadly confrontation, Ajal is named an Inheritor, a rare bearer of a divine artifact once wielded by the gods themselves. His Gift? A sentient, shadowy scarf that feels like it’s alive—a relic of Death itself.
Now, with a mission he doesn’t understand and a power he never asked for, Ajal is thrust into a world of legendary warriors, deadly creatures, and ancient secrets. At Arkphis Institute, a prestigious academy for the gifted, he begins his training, joining allies—and making enemies—along the way. But as he uncovers more about his own Gift and the gods’ hidden agendas, he realizes he may be a pawn in a conflict as old as the world itself.
To survive, Ajal must confront his fears, master his new power, and uncover the truth that lies beyond death. Because the gods don’t choose lightly—and they don’t let go easily.
