After a series of traumatizing events, Kuroioki Hashiro, a japanese seventeen year old boy, is reminded during the anniversary of his brother's death how cruel the world can be. After losing his life during an accident involving an iron beam, the young boy finds himself in another world populated by a small variety of species, some more and less symilar to humans. He, alongside other eleven humans, is given the task to rule over one of the twelve kingdoms of this foreign world, but he'll meet his first obstacle when his own subordinates turn on him to keep control over the kingdom.
