Every fifty years, the remnants of humanity on Iboria face a new extinction event. An unstoppable tide of monsters erupts from the dungeon to reap the flesh of the living. But, they need not face this threat alone. The god Vishatu has taken sympathy to their plight and summons (kidnaps) heroic (gullible) individuals from other worlds who are granted various blessings, becoming Champions. They are then sent to lead the humanity against the monstrous hordes.  Darell is an intelligent, if introverted, student who is brought to Iboria by mistake. Now, he has to do his best to survive in a hostile world without the strength normally given to Champions. Luckily, the world he has been brought to has both magical and other, more esoteric, methods for achieving strength, but time is not his friend as his coming heralds the arrival of a new wave.
