Thousands of years ago, the world was shattered into pieces. Those who now live on the Shards only moved to that world after it broke, but there is evidence of a civilization that existed prior to their arrival. With their magic, they were able to prevent the Shards from drifting farther. In the current era, magic and machines have been perfected, but the one event now forces the past of the Shards to the forefront.
