It has been two decades since the kingdom of Ralithien suffered a devastated invasion from its enemies across the Evenessian sea, but ever since, times have been peaceful, and its inhabitants have grown soft. Now a new threat with unbreakable resolve looms over the horizon, and the royal house must scramble to prepare a disorganised realm whose nobility is more concerned with petty fights and greed than the good of its subjects, while an overzealous church spreads its malign tendrils disguised as divine salvation.
