Synopsis

It’s the year 3050, and instead of another global pandemic that would threaten the human race, another thing plagues the world, overpopulation. The theory is that after the single world government became a thing, so many walks of life were introduced to one another causing what I personally like to call a giant world orgy thus breeding this overpopulated of a world we call Earth. As you can imagine, there were issues with this both on the economical and civil war fronts. And just like with everything else, the government had a plan, and for once it didn’t only benefit them. A form of population control that seemed both entertaining and rewarding. In the early years of the century, gaming was established as a professional sport. And over time the gaming community slowly grew into something that shaped the everyday lives around us. Realizing the sudden skyrocket of gamers, government officials seized the opportunity and began funding a certain project developed by Dismantle Studios, a video game known as Aleria.  The game was at first, a typical massive multiplayer, and roleplaying game. The player would take up quests around the world known as Aleria, exploring the depths of a world other than the one they were used to. Like me, the game served as a way to escape the horrors of the real world. But everything changed after the virtual reality update. It was something like no other, all across the world, people mysteriously began receiving  gaming gear to get them up and running for the world of Aleria. Young and old, girl, or guy. Some hadn’t even played a game in their life but were tempted after hearing the offer. The virtual capabilities incorporated into the updated game were no like other. With the funding, it became possible for all five senses to be taken under control and replicated into this game. You could also edit any medical conditions to your liking. This meant here, the paralyzed had the means to walk and the sick became well. And if you were poor, the game’s currency would cash out any currency you had after each session into real currency. Of course, there were drawbacks. One was a leveling system. This could be pretty intimidating to new players. This was because the five senses were under the control of the game, making it possible to feel everything that happened to your character. And furthermore, if you died in this game, Death came for you in the real world as well. This story follows the adventure of Hachi Hokugoma, a casual player who against his will, is tied into a marriage with a mysterious player on the count of a virtual mishap. With his partner in tow, Hachi traverses the many landscapes, not only finding out that the virtual world he’d grown to love is more than a game. He may also find love.
