The year of 2060. The Earth's resources have depleted and the rich have fled to another planet. At this stage, only a small percentage of the human population remain. Electricity is no longer available and rations run low. The protagonist is 13. She is one of the last conceived into the dying planet, as disease runs vacant and infants die from pollution. She has never seen a whale before. There is a legend that one remains in what used to be the Pacific Ocean. She embarks on a journey to find it. And when she does, it talks.
