When a young gnome is kidnapped by wicked humans at the behest of a malevolent force, his friends have to work together to bring him home. Their world is vast and dangerous, the threats to their quest and their lives resplendent in their variety. Only by gathering allies and racing against the clock can they hope to rescue their friend before a dark fate falls upon him. At the same time a young officer of the law, discovering that her dream career was not so idyllic after all, pursues the source of an addictive substance running rampant through her streets.
