“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” -Heraclitus In a drunken stupor, David, a college student struggling with grief, makes a dumb decision. He decides the only way to feel better is to die.  Unfortunately for him, death is not in the cards. He's stuck living life in misery until he can learn to move on and grow as a person. This story doesn’t end perfectly, because there is no reason for it to. Not everything needs to be wrapped up in a pretty bow. This might make the story seem rather pointless, but an argument could be made that such a lack of purpose IS the purpose. Not everything needs a reason to exist, sometimes they just ARE. Likewise, people don’t need to have a meaning, they just need to BE.   Sounds simple, right? But it’s very hard to just BE, much harder than one would expect.   This is merely the story of someone searching to find meaning in the world after a loss and finding none.
