The Fournier type of Tarot Nouveau deck has 78 cards. 56 are traditional French suited cards, ten “pip” cards, an ace, four court cards, Jack, Knight, Queen and King, alongside 21 atouts or trumps, and one fool. ---Cardholders, those with supernatural abilities who fight supernatural phenomena known as Slights in secret as members of the ICA or International Cardholder Association. James (Jamie) Moore, a 15 year old teen whose father mysteriously disappeared before being labeled as dead when he was younger has always lived a sort of weird life. In between the constant moving, his Dad’s disappearance and his scar things around him just can’t stay normal. When he inspects something odd in his new neighborhood he suddenly gets wrapped up in a world of strange powers, chess pieces and playing cards.
