**** years ago, just before the creation of Verden the eight gods, Mudrost, Evaris, Volera, Kala, Gaia, Estrada, Dyn, and Andier had only the void as their abode. They had lived there for a thousand years and grew tired of its dark monotony. Evaris complained to Mudrost, for Mudrost was the wisest and most thoughtful, surely he would have a solution.
Mudrost consented, he told the others to join hands, and using his imagination they created a great circle between them. In this circle they placed their world. They called their world Verden and they loved it.
Verden was made with round shape with waters, earth, and sky. But the waters were still and stagnant, the earth flat and barren, and the air heavy and stale. All of the gods saw this, but Evaris impatient as always acted first. He saw the earth and wished for treasures so he warped the earth and made mountains and valleys, and imbued the earth with minerals, jewels, and metals both precious and otherwise.
The others watched and they decided to put their mark on this world.
Estrada hated the continuity land, so she divided it and cast it along the waters. She hated the dull sky so she created the sun, and made it rest, calling the time with it day and without night. Then she she took a pieces of the land and formed the moon to light the night and move the stagnant waters, and she created the stars break the void. Finally she made clouds to lighten the air and take water from the oceans and wet the dry land. Lastly, she created storms to cycle Verden to keep it young.
Gaia loved the land and its texture, so she made grassy meadows to cover the flat plain earth Evaris left alone and to remind him of his neglect, she called them plains though now they were beautiful, she created trees with broad leaves and to cover the hills, and tall trees with needles to cover the mountains and valleys. She called these regions forests and where her broad leafed trees became giants she called rainforests. Finally she enriched the soil and imbued power in the earth... where magic flowed like rivers.
Andier loved the land but thought it too slow, he decided to make animals to walk the earth. He made animals that burrowed in the ground and animals that ran above. But to few he gave a special gift, but that, is for later
Kala loved the water and to swim, therefore she created fish to stay in the waters forever, she saw Gaia’s plants and made her own to give life to the fish. Then she made beautiful majestic creatures that would prefer to see the sky from time to time but swam with her.

Dyn had spent a long time with the gods and knew their minds. So he decided to make lesser beings in appearance similar to the gods. He gave them reason and freedom. However these beings were bland and lacked imagination.
Volera loved the wind and air and that was where she left her mark. She created birds who were as light as the air they flew in and ones that were to heavy. But she wanted more there was so much space, but nothing to share it with, as she flew over the land she pulled the land closer so she could see better she saw the lizards Andier made and she made her own but gave them wings and made them graceful and intelligent. She made them large and imbued them with magic. She called them dragons. All the gods were impressed with these.
And so they lived on verden amongst man in peace for a thousand years. They learned love, Mudrost married Volera, Dyn married Gaia, Evaris married Estrada, and Andier married Kala.
But Evaris found greed and jealousy when he saw man dig up his treasures, he spoke to his wife “Estrada see how man lights fires and ignores your sky.” Estrada who was very vain saw and grew angry. Evaris then spoke to Andier and Kala “See how man hunts your animals and fish”. The soon also grew angry and started killing man. The others saw this and defended man, and the gods fought for 1000 years, nearly destroying the world.
During their war the gods were changed, Evaris, Estrada, Andier, and Kala became the gods of Chaos and discord. Evaris in his hoarding nature became the god of greed and deceit, Estrada in her vanity the goddess of decay and pestilence, Andier in his bestial wrath the god of war and murder, and Kala in her fluid deceit the goddess of theft and oppression.
Mudrost, Volera, Dyn, and Estrada became the gods of Order and harmony. Mudrost in his understanding became the god of Wisdom and thoughtfulness, Volera in her forgiveness, became the goddess of love and patience, Dyn in his loneliness the god of peace and sharing, and Gaia in her growth, the goddess of youthfulness and joy.
One day Mudrost looked out on Verden he saw the waters were all but gone, the land was barren and dry and the sky blotted by smoke. Grieving he called an end to the fighting and the gods though still angry paused and looked upon the wastes. Verden was destroyed. The gods convened a moot. They decided to restore Verden and in order to save it from future destruction they must leave it, and so they left. The gods of Chaos created a realm of chaos in their likeness, and the gods of Order created a realm of order in their likeness. Before they left Mudrost finally left his mark on the world. He created spirit, dreams and imagination. Spirit so man and their beasts could live in the realms of Order or Chaos. Dreams to give people hope for the future, and imagination to make those dreams a reality.
