Humanity wants to eat us, the great and proud dragons. In Caltyr's world, all it takes for a human to cast magic is to eat the flesh of a dragon. Dragon scales and flesh are used as currency, sought after for their mana-imbuing properties. The power-hungry humans have driven the magical dragons nearly to extinction. So when Caltyr develops the power to bend and transform flesh and tries to impress his classmates with it, they shriek in horror and brand him an outcast. When a rift opens and demons begin to pour into their world, everything changes. The dragons and humans will need to form a tenuous alliance to drive them out. The demons sport a thick hide that a dragon's normal elemental magic can't penetrate. But what if, maybe, a certain dragon could part their flesh first?
