Action, revenge, magic and war. Kari learned about the war from her tutor but didn't realize it was going on outside of her home. One of the armies attacked her home and she was swept away by a family freind. With him she  gets to see amazing places and learns how to fight. She eventually stops running and learns how to take charge just as the war reaches its peak.
