As the Earth, along with the entire universe is integrated into the system, all sufficiently intelligent life is dragged into the tutorial, where they must complete a trial to leave, or die. After release from the tutorial, the remains of humanity are faced with their cities being overran by overgrown vegetation, and rabid, incredibly strong animals, mutated by the system's arrival. Practically all infrastructure has been destroyed in the wake of the system, and what remains is fought over by the desperate survivors. Aiden Moore, a young graduate, has been dragged into the tutorial while asleep and unceremoniously dropped on his ass. Upon learning of the situation, Aiden throws himself into the tutorial's various courses, all in a bid to become stronger. His aging parents are on the other side of the country, and as their only child, it's his responsibility to protect them. However, the journey across an entire continent will not be easy. Will he be able to survive and thrive in the hostile environment of the changed earth? Will he find out why exactly the system integrated their universe? Is there a bigger reason beyond 'fate'? **** Author here - I have to say, I'm not good at writing synopses, and this is the only style I'm remotely familiar with, though it doesn't describe my story very well. Some things of not - although this story begins on earth, it will not all take place on earth - in fact, most of it will take place outside of earth. There will be no base/city/empire building - it's simply not structured this way. Lastly, the content warnings - although I don't intend on using all of them, I'm ticking them to give myself creative freedom. Does my current plan for the story include explicit sex? No; but it could. It will, however, include profanity and gore.
