How strong must we grow, to overcome the threats of our past? Fawn lives in a settlers village, under the ungoverned repression of a cruel militia, known to the villagers as the Cast. Her homeland is a place where pain and misery are such a part of daily life that she knows nothing else.  When her family is torn apart, Fawn’s journey takes her into the wilderness entirely alone, hunted and in desperation. Eventually rescued by a monster that has been feared throughout generations, she slowly learns what it is to leave her victim life behind.
