Eight adventurers bound by fate set out to save the world. 4 nations governed by the 4 elements fight over a powerful, magical material known as the Aether. This material can be purified once every 1000 years through a mysterious process only known as the "Aether Cycle," when purified, this material can give one person a drastically extended lifespan, along with complete control over one of the 4 elements. However, this completion of the cycle is different, it is the 100th cycle to be completed, and it is known that whoever receives this piece of Aether will gain full control over all 4 elements, and therefore the world... this world, and the next.
